The Plan
 
We are Phil and Anthony (Toj), two, 22 year old university graduates who both have personal associations with the effects of breast cancer. Unfortunately in November 2006 Anthony’s mum passed away after an 8 year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Phil has two close family members who have also been recently treated for the disease. Leaving in the first week of September, we aim to drive around western and central Europe travelling around 5000 miles, across 15 countries, over a period of 9 months, and utilise our trip to support Genesis by raising money and breast cancer awareness. The Genesis Appeal is the only UK charity dedicated to the early diagnosis and prevention of breast cancer, aiming to create a future without breast cancer.

We aim to use our trip to raise awareness through our personal encounters which you can follow on this website, our online blog and the YouTube clips we'll post. Hopefully by using the internet in this way we can keep you up to date with where we've been, what we've seen and who we've spoken to. On our return, we aim to take the video footage we capture and compile a short DVD, as a sustainable resource for Genesis, designed to inspire further and higher education students to develop similar ‘alternative’ charity campaigns.

Also during this period we'd also love to be able to raise £1 for every mile we travel, totalling at least £5000 for Genesis, which you can help us by donating online. We'd also love to hear from you while we're away, so any news or views on the places we've been and the places we're going on route, please get in touch via email, post a response on our Blog and/or leave a video response on our YouTube page. N.B. Costs for the trip will be covered from our own pockets!
