What is the Genesis Appeal? |
| |
-
The Genesis Appeal is the only UK
charity dedicated to the early diagnosis and prevention of breast
cancer.
-
In 2007 Genesis opened Europe’s
first Breast Cancer Prevention centre opposite Wythenshawe Hospital
in Manchester.
-
The purpose built centre will
promote breast screening and early diagnosis and research new
treatments to stop breast cancer in its early stages.
-
There is a strategic programme of
clinical research, the UK’s largest family history clinic, plus a
training centre for specialists in all breast cancer disciplines.
-
Genesis’ mission is to create a
future without breast cancer by making the 1 in 10 women who will
develop breast cancer during their lifetime, none in ten, with the
same aim for the 1 in 1000 men.
